Wheatware Mission
The Wheatware mission is about saving virgin forests, protecting the habitat that resides there; while reducing our dependency on all of the many toxic, oil/plastic products. They are committed to offer an ever expanding number of products which can replace wood or toxic plastic products in order to help secure a sustainable future for our children and generations to come.
Wheatware is Biodegradable!
Wheatware™ Bio-Compostable products are designed to biodegrade in 45 to 90 days in microbially-active soil or a commercial compost facility.
Our Wheatware™ Bio-compostable products are certified ASTM D6400-04 compliant, an international standard requiring significant biodegradation within 90 days in a commercial composting facility, leaving behind only earth friendly compost. Manufactured in Nebraska, USA using only compostable ingredients.
What does Bio-Compostable mean?
This means a product can bypass the commercial composting
facility and disintegrate safely in normal microbially-active soil,
becoming friendly compost, that actually helps new plants grow healthier.*
The Dream Shop Experiment With Wheatware!
We took a golf tee and left it buried in the backyard, where it quickly started to disappear. Checking on it every month, we noticed that is was about a third gone every time we checked. After around 90 days it was 90% gone and supposedly helping the flowers grow in the garden.*
*See picture below, for the incredible growth of the barley in the Wheatware experiment.
Wheatware is Compostable (ASTM D6400-04)
Currently, the Wheatware™ Bio-Compostable product line is compostable meeting ASTM D6400-04 standard (International Compostable Standard).
We carry only these ASTM D6400-04 Standard Compostable products on our site. They are much easier to dispose of.

Wheatware™ also carries BioMass-75 products that are NOT Compostable, because they have a small percentage of plastic, yet consist of mostly wheat. Wheatware™ BioMass-75 products reduce the consumption of our natural resources and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
We do not currently sell these products because they are not as easy to dispose of in your garden or compost heap. They can be recycled though! We are trying to find out if they would accept them back to recycle them again. We will let you know soon!
Wheatware is NON-TOXIC
Wheatware™ ASTM D6400-04 Bio-Compostable products, once composted are used as fertilizer, and accelerate plant growth per independent studies. In addition, these Wheatware™ compostable products, if incinerated, are dioxin-free, smell sweet and resolve into a dry white powder, an advantage for both the local communities near incineration plants and the earth’s atmosphere, as well as incineration plants.
Wheatware is HEAT RESISTANT
It withstands heat of 190°F to 210°F, greatly expanding the range of applications.
Wheatware is RECYCLABLE
Wheatware™ can eventually be reclaimed and made into further Wheatware™ Products. Our future plans include the development of second-generation products, made from recycled Wheatware™. This will help lessen the planetary burden on landfills, where in most major urban cities, landfills are steadily being closed. As each landfill closes, trash is being trucked longer distances, contributing to air pollution and traffic congestion. This increased use of our roads by heavy trash trucks accelerates the need for road repair. This costly expense is passed on to you, the taxpayer. Wheatware is an all round affordable solution to multiple societal problems.
Wheatware will NOT impact the wheat supply
On average there is a 50 billion bushel wheat surplus annually (150 million metric tons). We forecast it will take 10 years of accelerated Wheatware™ production capacity to reach 5-10% of the annual wheat surplus! Meanwhile, the U.S. Government continues to offer subsidies to farmers to not grow wheat. There is a plentiful supply of wheat, an abundant, renewable resource. By future recycling of Wheatware™, each bushel of wheat in effect is reclaimed and reused over and over, thus one bushel can create a lifetime of products.
Wheatware products will NOT cause allergies
During the manufacturing process, Wheatware™ becomes similar to plastic. So, if you can use plastic products without an allergic reaction, you should also safely be able to use Wheatware™.
